The Laptops for Learning program selects a minimum of 15 5th and 6th grade students to receive a new laptop computer. Students are selected through an application and interview process. Selected students earn their computer over a year and half by getting good grades, good behavior, and attending weekly coaching sessions.
As part of the program students attend Tech Adventure Camp where they explore the world of computer design and robotics by learning to design and assemble and program their own creations. This is a two week summer enrichment program offered by Fairfax County Public Schools. ABCD provides the scholarships to this program.
ABCD has graduated over 150 students in the last ten years. The weekly coaching sessions take place at the KCCTP.
