ABCD installed two little free libraries on the property in the spring of 2017. The Libraries were the idea of Barbara Peters, then manager of the Thomas Jefferson Library. The two structures were built and installed by the Kingsley Commons maintenance staff and were painted by members of the Kingsley 4-H Club. The libraries are located in front of the Family Resource Center, 3175-B Monticello Dr., and in front of the the Kingsley Commons Community Technology Program, 3037 B Monticello Dr.
An additional Little Free LIbrary located at Knox Presbyterian Church, on Allen Street makes sure that all Kingsley Residents have access to reading material.
Little Free Libraries work on a good faith basis. Anyone can take a book from the library. There are no fines or fees or check out procedures. Readers can also drop off a book for others to read.
Books are maintained by the staffs of the KFRC and KCCTP.
